Neural Networks Interest Group

2007

During my undergraduate degree I was kindly invited by one of my Mathematics professors to work on a software development project at NNIG – Neural Networks Interest Group at Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. The research group used a custom piece of software called NNIG-Nets MLP to run automated experiments. My task was to carry on the development of the visual tools that aided the setup and interpretation of experiment data. The custom software platform provided an end-to-end framework to manage learning data, customise the parameters of the neural networks, set up experiments and analyse results.

NNIG provided an incredible first experience with working with a development team, a first insight into academic research and the chance to have a behind the scenes look at the organisation of an academic conference.
